La Technologie!

22 novembre 2011

Today wasn't too bad at all. Class seems to be following the same good trend, though there is just a lot of work. I can't belief my midterm paper is due on Wednesday, since I'm going to be gone Thursday through Sunday. Ohhhh, this is going to be fun :)

Anyway, we FINALLY got our fingerprints scanned into the computer so we are able to get into the Center without ringing the bell. I felt sooo cool. Like, a spy, or something. It may be pathetic that this was so exciting for me, but alas, I enjoy the little things :)

I'm sooooo coooollll!!!! "Bienvenue, Michnick Ashley"

I worked as much as I could for my two presentations that I had to give the next day, then went out to grab a drink and see a movie. We saw the French film, Polisse. It is one of the most critically acclaimed movies in France right now, and apparently looked really good. Holy cow. It was intense. It's about the police brigade that deals with sex crimes against minors and wow. It was blunt and raw and frankly, traumatizing. I understand that these things are rough, but wow. It was also very typically French, and the ending was just absolutely graphic. It was certainly a moving film, but wow. It definitely helped put things in perspective for me.

We were on our way home on the métro at around 0:30 and it was HILARIOUS. We got in a car with a bunch of completely drunk old men in berets. I think they were from some sort of function or group or something, but it was quite hilarious. Then, we look over to the train behind us, and we see a guy giving a puppet show!! It was most certainly the most eventful metro ride I've ever had. Yay for Paris!!

The puppet show!
