Les Catacombs Ont Été Fermés!!

0h30

We didn't get too early of a start this morning, but I did wake up and start my reading for the presentation tomorrow. I thought that was minorly productive. We headed out for the catacombs at about 11h, and when I left and checked the weather it said 64 degrees with a 0% chance of rain. Go figure. As soon as we got out of the métro, we saw it was pouring. But, rain doesn't stop us! We found our way over to the catacombs and....they were closed for All Saint's Day! We did look online to see if they'd be open, and it said nothing of them being closed today. Ah, well. Since we were out there, we figured we should at least do something. Also, I was really not wanting to go back home and do work.

Me: sad, wet, and hungry :/ (And...creepy friend in the background....:P )

So, we ended up just walking around in the rain, looking at all these cool shops that we wished we could go into--but they too, were closed. When they have holidays in France, they really have holidays. I'm not kidding, like 95% of everything was closed!

On the bright side....we did find a DISCOBAR!

We figured we should head back, and so we stopped at a crêperie and got some lunch before heading home. I then started working full speed on my presentation. I read 10 journal articles about molecular and chromosomal evolution analyses of lemurs and lorisids. I'm still not done with my powerpoint. Seriously, though, I don't think I've made a powerpoint since like sophomore year in high school! Eeek. I guess I'll be waking up early tomorrow. Ick ick ick.

Mon galette complèt (jambon, oeuf, fromage):

Ah, well, after tomorrow, I've an essay, research paper, French movie to watch, and two conversation sessions before the end of the week. I think I'll be more than happy when this week is over. And maybe this weekend, I'll try out the catacombs again :P
