Louvre!

22h30

Today was a total chill day. I woke up and decided to finally take myself over to the Louvre. I'm happy I went by myself, because just like I remembered, this place is huge. I think I could easily spend three days in there. Though I would have been happy to go with other people, I sometimes feel like museums can get a little weird and awkward because everyone wants to see different things, and then you're worried about taking too long so that everyone is waiting for you, or about going to quickly and having to wait for others. This way, I could just take my time and see what I wanted to see.

I started on the ground floor with the Greek and Roman antiquities. I've been so into Roman stuff these past few weeks. I totally enjoyed it. Even though I don't know a lot about the works, I really enjoy taking my time and enjoying what they have. It gives me time to think and wonder at the brilliance of mankind. It really helps restore hope. We were created with goodness and genius.

Of course, like a total loser, I forgot my camera, so I have no pictures :( I realized as I was standing in line for tickets, and was so tempted to just run back home and get it. But, I decided I would feel more relaxed if I didn't feel like I had to take pictures. Plus, it was pretty crowded, so I knew that would already frustrate me a little. So, I'm sorry, if anyone was hoping for pictures! :( I'll probably go back at some point, so maybe there will be pictures to come.

After about two hours on the ground floor, I decided to go up to the first floor to see the decorative art (objets d'art). Here they have furniture and other "objects" from all sorts of time periods. I know it at least went from Medieval to Napoleon times. I spent about  two and a half hours in this collection, then decided it was probably time to head home and work on my homework.

This was good, because I have two essays and a presentation for next week. Plus, a lot of French work too. I can't say I was as productive as I wanted to be today, but I suppose it'll all get done in due time. I'm excited to go to church tomorrow, since I didn't get a chance to go last week. We gain one hour tomorrow morning at 03h when they switch over to winter time. Yay! An extra hour of sleep!!
