Une Crêpe Gratuite!

20h45

Well, it's a good thing I forgot how to get to church, because when I looked it up online this morning, I found the line I usually take is under construction. That meant I was going to have to give the bus system another try. Yay for adventure! I did a little bit more research this time, and managed to catch the bus. I enjoyed it quite a bit, because I was able to see the path I usually take, but am never able to see--because I'm underground. I even got a bit of knitting done.

Finding my way to church was a bit tricky, but with my much-improved map skills, I was able to get there on time. Since it's the fifth Sunday, we had combined Relief Society and Elder's Quorum. The lesson was on Eve's Role and her Example for us today. I'm not sure if this is how they usually do it, but they had a woman teach for half the class and an elder for the second half. It was kind of a cool way to have a combined lesson. And it was a very good one, too. I'm taking down lots of church-y vocabulary :)

The rest of church was good as well, and when it was time to head back, I figured the bus stop would be in about the same place...but on the other side of the street. I guess I was wrong to assume that. Ah, well,  I wasn't too upset because it was actually quite a nice day, and I like wandering and not feeling pressured to be somewhere. But, in my search for a bus stop to take me home, I realized how hungry I was and that I was nowhere near my McDonalds (:P).

So, I decided to stop by this little crêpe shop. When I approached, the guy asked me "French or English?" and I responded "Français, bien sûr." He smiled and said Thank heavens, because he hardly gets to speak French, ever, at work. I was very near the Centre Pompidou, so he must get a lot of tourists. I ordered my ham and cheese crêpe and he said he'd give it to me free if I stayed and talked while I ate it. 7 euros for a crêpe and drink for free plus getting to speak French? I think yes! Haha, so he was very nice and we had a fun conversation. When it was time to go, he said he'd come with me to find a bus, but I politely declined and went on my way. He said I should be back soon. I think I won't, because sometimes those meetings are better if they only happen once. :)

Anyways, I did end up finding a bus stop by waiting on the side that went toward the church and when the bus arrived, asking the driver where the bus stops for the other direction. He was very kind, and the ride back was just as enjoyable as the ride there. I made that pasta again today, and was much more successful. I'm not sure what I did wrong last time, but it's definitely better!

Also, apparently I have a presentation to give in French class tomorrow....one of the members of my group just called. So, we're meeting in about half and hour to whip something together. Man, I need to get on top of all this work! I wish I had brought my planner (I'm dying without it!), but I'm much too cheap to buy a new one when I've a perfectly good one at home. I think our presentation is about racism, or gender-ism, or something of the sort. I guess I should go find out!

Bonne nuit, tous!
