J'ai Fait des Progrès!

23h30

So, I realized yesterday I forgot to convey the most important piece of information I learned all day!! I finally counted the number of steps I have to climb one way to/from school. I always knew it was a lot, but yesterday I remembered to count. Grand total: 330 steps UP each way. YIKES. And yet, I feel no stronger. Maybe when I get back, I'll be pro :P

Anywhoozles....today was another day of much learning. Our lectures tend to run over...by fifteen minutes to half an hour. I've never had a lecture run that much overtime, but it's not that bad. If I didn't get so hungry about three-quarters of the way through, I could probably sit there for longer! It's funny because now that we spend so much time in our first class (2.25 hours or more), one hour of French goes by so quickly!

Speaking of French, we're discussing the cultural implications of the gentrification of Paris (and gentrification in general). That led us to talking about what the French call les bobos, who are basically bohemian bourgeois. I.e. Our equivalent of yuppie or hipster. We literally spent at least 20 minutes discussing the characteristics and differences and why they are that way. I hardly understand the difference in English, but I think I might get it now :P

I finished practicing, and have officially started making my knitting project! I'm on row 7. I was going to take a picture, but I'm not 100% sure I'm not going to have to take it all out...so I'm going to wait until I have enough for the pattern to start showing up before I speak too soon. But I'm super excited!!!

But, the most exciting thing today: I officially purchased my tickets for LONDON!! Ah! I can't believe it! Mostly, that I just spent that much money (ouch! :( ), but also that I'm officially going to LONDON. OH. MY. Ashley, traveling to Britain. Eek! We're definitely spending an afternoon at Stonehenge (already found a bus to take us there), and we got some very good recommendations for how to spend the rest of our time. More details to come, but AH!

I'm also about 95% sure I'm going to spend the first half of our week off in Berlin and the second half in Rome. I originally had planned on also going to Madrid, but decided to cut it out after decided I'd rather have quality time in two places than rushed time in three. If all goes according to plan, tickets for everything will be purchased by the end of this week (hopefully by tomorrow!). I'm very nervous, but I know that will settle down once I can make more lists and possible itineraries for while I'm there. Mostly, once I find out the lodging situation :P

Tomorrow we're going to see an Elisabeth Daynès exhibit in Neanmoor, and back to the Gallery of Comparative Anatomy for our Research Project. We've to get up early again, so I really should already be asleep. I had more energy today than I've had in what feels like such a long time. I'm so grateful. I also finished another Sudoku (this time it took on the way to and from school :P), and I know this one wasn't incredibly easy.

FIFTH WEEK IS APPROACHING. Where is the time going!?
